Hello fellow believers. I know it has been a minute since my last post but things happen for good reason and just know i have returned with my interesting point of views and ramblings. For today's post i've decided to touch on everyone's favorite Merc with the Mouth: Deadpool. It's been about a month or so since his movie debut in February (which in my eyes was AMAZING) but it didn't start off that way. That character took a huge hit in the beginning before becoming the great box office smash that you've seen today. First, lets talk about how he started. How it horribly began, with Deadpool's first appearance in X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
X-Men Origins was released in 2009 with what should've been the greatest ensemble of mutants we have ever seen since X-Men 3. But just like X Men 3, it failed to capture the essence of his origins and was just an OVERALL train wreck. Me knit picking that movie will deviate from what this post is about which is DeadPool. DeadPool made his first cinematic debut in X Men Origins with the perfect actor playing him Ryan Reynolds. At first, i was giddy with excitement because Ryan had the charisma, the puns, and overall personality that was Deadpool. I thought FINALLY Fox had something right here, i was going to see greatness. Fox was probably reading my thoughts and just like that they sewn DeadPools mouth shut. That was probably one of the biggest mistake they did in that movie, outside of everything else. The one thing that made DeadPool......well DEADPOOL was his never ending barrage of jokes. That's like the equivalent of taking away Thor's hammer. For god sakes it's in his name "the Merc with the MOUTH". To put insult to injury they then made him this chimera mutant where they injected him with other mutant abilities. It was such a train wreck i literally left the movie theaters when they did this BS. I have been an avid comic book fan of DeadPool and i literally was devastated on what Fox did to this franchise. After a couple of years after that debacle, i thought it was the end of what would pretty much could have been an awesome opportunity for a Deadpool Franchise. My dream of an amazing DeadPool on the big screen pretty much died but then it happened, a test footage was leaked and all hell broke loose.
(If you haven't seen the original test footage here you go.)
This wonderful Vid was leaked at San Diego Comic con and the reception was well deserved on top of the video going viral. In a matter of hours the internet was buzzing for questions. Was this an actual movie that's going to happen? who is going to play DeadPool? Was it a continuation of the Wolverine origins? Is Fox going to screw this one up too? Then our prayers had been answered in the name of Ryan Reynolds. Ryan Reynolds and Fox studio confirmed that they will be making a stand alone DeadPool Movie and it had NOTHING to do with origins (one lone thug tear was shed).Of course i have to give credit to the numerous amount of Fans who petitioned and made soooooo much noise for this to be realized. I was happy and willing to go see this movie after many video promotions released. After taking my Girlfriend to see it for Valentines day (yes i did that and i stand by my decision) i thought it was amazing. Of course like any movie adaptation, it wasn't going to follow his origins to the letter. Which i'm ok with as long as it is done very well and sort of keeps the essence of the original story. Almost everything about DeadPool in the comics was portrayed in the movie quite well except for one or two things. Nothing too major but, hopefully they could correct it in a sequel movie. In my opinion, Ryan Reynolds was born to play DeadPool. He had all the mannerism that you would see in the comics from the barrage of jokes and crude humor to the 4th wall breaking (i was soooooooooo happy that they had 4th wall breaking in this movie). This Movie redeemed DeadPool and many other opportunities and scenarios that could happen in the Marvel Cinematic universe. Hopefully, we may see DeadPool cross over in other movies and maybe, just maybe, a cameo in the infinity wars later down the road. For now time will tell and we can only wish for the best. so, if you haven't seen the movie i'm going to need you to go and see it. Like now.........like right now..........why are you still reading this.......GO
