Gotham is now protected by steel bat Guardians controlled by Batman the manor is in rubble caused by two-face and Bane since his Identity had been made public only the cave remains He also wears a battle suit to continue his war on crime his former Robin and Bat family Member Dick Grayson takes on the Mantle of Red Robin an replaces Batman as a member of Superman's newly reformed Justice League. The Narrator of the story, A Minister named Norman McCay,recieves Apocalyptic vision of the Future from a Dying Welsey Dodds the Former hero sandman. The Spectre appears and recruits him to past judgement on the coming superpowered apocalyspe. This is a story of Redemption and vengeance of justice and pain an sacrifice. As it unfolds you realize that theses are not the Heroes we once knew they are mourning consumed by inner rage some are just a shell of their former selves from their Glory Days. Others have been phscologically and chemically unbalanced theses gods have been silienced. This four issue mini series that was published may to august of 1996 shook the readers and still does to this day the scriptures choosen to describe theses events in this Else Worlds tale make it an epic. You as a reader want to take a neutral stance you dont want to see superman lose, but enjoy watching him an a adult billy Batson/Captain Marvel whos been brain washed by Lex Luthor go at it like the Gods they are. Batman Volume 1 The Court of Owls New 52 Review

"He Tried to use Gotham's legends against me. But I'm the Only Legend this city needs." Bruce Wayne has faced many enemies in his time as The Dark Knight but this enemy The secret society known as the Court of Owls thought to once be just a nursery rhyme has come back to take Gotham an Destroy its legendary Guardian Batman. When The new 52 was introduced in 2009 I was a huge skeptic about it. I went to Forbidden Planet looking to get back into reading an collecting so I went to pick up this story. Writer Scott Snyder words go for your soul he makes you feel like you are batman that you are behind the cowl. Looking at Greg Capullo's art just wraps up the whole story you are brought to the Dark rotting world of Gotham an you don't want to leave. Dealing with a Centuries old assassin who can regenerate an be brought back from the dead can be a problem even for the Dark Knight but we know he has help "The Family" plays a part in this story as well not only is batman and the Wayne legacy attacked but his allies are as well. I have to say this story has made me into a believer of the New 52 at least when it comes to the Batman I feel like I'm five years old again waiting for the next episode of the Animated series to air. In my 25 years of reading playing an breathing comics I have never been this excited to read the next story or even go an collect other stories. It leaves you craving more and I can say because of this story I have gone back to building an pre-52 and new 52 collection of trade collected editions when the last time I read a comic or even have a collection was in 2009. The Flash : The Fastest man Alive

Don't you just wish there more time in the day wish you could do an infinite amount of things in the blink of an eye well unfortunately none of us are the flash nicknamed both the Scarlett Speedster, the Crimson Comet also referred to as the Fastest man Alive. Now there are Four incarnations of the character and they all possess super speed, which includes the ability to run and move extremely fast have super reflexes and violate certain and many different laws of physics an space. The original Flash made his first appearance in Flash Comics #1 (January1940). now here are the names of the previous incartions of the Flash Jay Garrick (1940- present time) Barry Allen (1956-1985,2008-present ), Wally West (1986-2006,2007-2012), and Bart Allen(2006-2007). Before Wally and Bart took the mantle of the flash they where both protege's using the same name Kid Flash Bart also took the name Impulse. As stated before there have been several others who have used the name Flash but they have either lived on other parallel earths or in the future the best know n to hold this identity are Garrick , Allen , and West. Jay Garrick a 1938 college student at the time accidentally inhaled heavy water vapors after taking a nap in the lab hwe was working in.Jay notice he could run a superhuman speed with similiarly fast reflexes. After a brief college football carreer Jay decided to fight crime he donned a red tshirt with ablightening olt and a metal stylized helmet with wings based on the images of the greek god Hermes. Although Jay is originally from Earth two ( Parallel world l He was incorporated into the History of New Earth following the crisis on Infinite Earths event which is why he is still active as the Flash of Keystone City and Member of the Justice Society. Now you ever meet someone who was always slow,deliberate and Frequently late? Thats Barry Allen a forensic scientist who had a bunch of chemicals spill on him after a lightening Bolt shattered the case of the chemicals. Realizing he could run fast and with super fast matching reflexes he dubbed himself the Flash after his childhood hero Jay Garrick. In the 1985 maxi series Crisis On Infinite Earths, Allen Sacrificed his life for the universe, and remained dead for over twenty years until the 2009 series The Flash Rebirth brought Allen back to the DC universe. Before I speak about the speed force lets talk about the flashes and their powers an abilities. All incarnations of the Flash can move,think and react at light speeds as well as having superhuman edurance that allows them to run incredible distances. the Later versions of the flash vibrate so fast and pass through walls this is called quantum tunneling, they can also travel through time. They can heal more rapidly then the average human. The speed force is the ability used by the flash to run through time amongst many other things . Wally west is the Nephew of Barry Allen and at ten years old the Same accident that gave Allens his powers repeated itself. The Young Wally became the kid flash after Barry's Death in Crisis On Inite Earths Wally became the Flash. Bart Allen is the grandson of Barry Allen at the time suffered from accelerated aging and was raised in a virtual reality machione to give him the impression of him still being a normal superpowered kid. Iris west Barry Allen's wife took Bart back in time to get help from then -current flash wally Bart's aging had slowed down he took the name impulse. But After taking a shot from shotgun to the knee by a possessed Slade wilson also known as DeathStroke , Bart had changed his attitude and outfit took the mantle of kid flash. Bart took over the mantle of the Flash soon but was killed by the villian team known as the Rogues. He was then resurrected by Brainac 5 in the 31st century but he did return to the past in Flash: Rebirth. In closing no matter which version of the flash you barely see in a blink of the eye he is hero that was a major help with his sacrifice in Crisis on Infinte earths he change his own small part of history in Flash point Paradox literally changing reality which was badass. The fact that his thoughts move at lightspeed making it tough to have a telepath like Martian ManHunter or Gorilla Grodd attack his mind make him a worthy opponent . In the Blackest Night Saga not only did wally run away from death itself he bacame a blue Lantern the emotion of hope that within itself is awesome I can only say this godspeed an dont get in the way of the flash. Trust me you wish you given up before you start the Flash will also have a series on the CW before the Season 3 premiere of Arrow which is going to be awesome.

Deadpool: The Merc with the Mouth

Have you ever met someone you where pretty sure wasnt functioning on all cyclinders or no cyclinders just on the notion that instead of there being just three dimensions there are alot more. That this person pisses you off to the point you want to kill him but cant so your stuck with him as he attempts to break through the Fourth wall of the universe well my friends please hide your loved ones an please have some kind of protective gear for your mind because we will be talking about Deadpool. A mercenary for hire Wade Winston Wilson made his first appearance in New Mutants #98 in February1991 he appeared as a villian in X-force and starreed in several ongoing series and shares titles with cyclops future son cable. Wade is better know as the "Merc With a Mouth," he never shuts upand has the tendency to break the "Fourth wall," this is used by writers for a humorous effect. Fun fact the Idea of the Fourth Wall was an Idea suggested by Philosopher and Critic Denis Diderot and spread in 19th century theatre, this extended the idea to the imaginary boundary between any fictional work and its audience. Its a technique used in metafiction it penetrates the boundaries normally set up by fiction this is all to say that Deadpool is self aware that he is a character ina comic and likes to share with audience thats pretty cool. Ok now Wade's back story is very vague and has been subject to change, within his own narrative he can't remember his personal history due to his mental state there is also some speculation as to whether or not his name is actually Wade Wilson. One of his nemese T-Ray claims in Deadpool#33 that he is the real wade wilson and that deadpool is a viscious murderer who stole his identity. There was even one point in time that the supervillain Asgardian Trickster Loki claimed to be his father I can not make this up. In the 2011-2012 Deadpool series it is implied in a flashback that Deadpool is the real Wade Wilson the deranged an partly insane son of a Decorated war hero, day dreams of childish and deadly ideas pushed him to become a mercenary. The original story had him joining The Weapon X program after being kicked out the United States Army Special Forces. Now The Mercs Primary power is an accelerated healing factor artfically endowed by the Weapon X program this enables him to regenerate any destroyed tissue at super-human rate as well this makes him immune to all known diseases. But an unanticipated side effect occured the acceleration of the cancerous tumors he was suffering from at that time, causing them to spread across his entire body. Because of this, his healing factor supercharged the cancer resulting in massive scar tissue causing Wade to be servely deformed. Wades healing factor also is the cause for his psychosis and Mental instability it is said to exacerbated a underlying mental issue, Young wade was shown as being withdrawn and disturbed caught in his twisted daydreams even after losing his healing factor Deadpool diddn't regain his sanity. Wades healing factor is strong enough that he has survived complete incineration and decapitation more then once. He was able to regrow his head after having it pulverized by the Hulk can I be first say wow. Now unlike Wolverine's natural healing factor wade's is mentally driven so he is resistant to most drugs and toxins, but some drugs can affect him like tranquilizers if exposed to a large dose. While Wade's Psychosis and dissociative identity disorder are seen as a great weakness, They are his greatest asset next to his Martial Arts, Marksmanship,Swordsman skills he is an unpredictable opponent with a chaotic improvised fighting style that distracts and destroys. As I close I enjoy deadpool and all of his eccentric behavior his insanity has made dull days pretty awesome he is a random badass who calls grenades pineapples gives his guns sound effects. Wolverine Weapon X

When your an Immortal with a sick healing factor indestructabile claws and the senses of an animal along with the shortest temper in the entire 616 span of the Marvel universe, you tend to be challenged repeatly with one outcome serious injuries. Im of course talking about logan also known as James Howlett better know as the Wolverine. Making his first appearance as a cameo in The Incredible Hulk # 180 in October 1974 then his full appearance in Hulk #181 in November 1974. Logan possesses animal keen senses; enhanced physical capabilities , and of course the healing factor that allows him to recover from any wound, disease, or toxin an a super accelerated rate. This healing factor also slows logans aging process allowing him to live beyond a normal human lifespan. Logan's healing helped him survive havin nearly indestructible metal alloy adamantium bonded to his skeleton damn. He is often depicted in comics as a member of The X-men, Alpha flightand later the Avengers. As time came to pass writer Chris Claremont in collaboration with artist Frank Miller revised logan's character with a limited four issue series from September to December 1982. This series coined Wolverine's catchphrase, " I'm the best there is at what I do, but what I do best isn't very nice". Logan was like many of the tough , anti-authority, antiheroes that popular american culture could relate to after the war in vietnam; Logan's willingness to use deadly force and his bad ass demeanor became the standard characteristic's for anti-heroes in the 80's. Wolverine became a fan favorite aas a resulkt of the increasingly popular francise. Wolverine has been featured in his own solo comic series 1988. Now Wolverine's official origin was told in the 2001-2002 miniseries Origin . Logan was born as James Howlett in Alberta Canada in the late 1880's, to rich farm owners John and Elizabeth howlett now later on the story Wolverine goes to hell reveals that logan is the illegitimate son of the howletts' groundskeeper, Thomas Logan. After being thrown off the Howlett's property for violent actions commited by thomas other son named dog wow thats a depressing name. Logans father returns to Howlett manor kills Mr. Howlett in retaliation james kills Thomas with bone claws that emerge from the back of his hands. A traumatic event in ones youth is often the trigger mutant powers. James is then casted out by his mother who then commits suicides james flees with his childhood friend Rose who closely resembles Jean Grey, grows up on a mining colony in the Yukon Territory where her adopts the name "Logan". When logan accidently kills Rose with the claws, He then leaves and goes to live in the wilderness amongst the wolves, After the wolves are killed logan gets captured by the circus he is set free by Saul Creed brother to Victor Creed also known as Sabertooth. After giving up Logan and Clara Creed's location to Nathaniel Essex also know as Mr. Sinister logan murders Saul which many believe is the reason for the cause of the obessesive rivalry between Sabertooth and Wolverine. Later Logan returns to civilization residing with the Blackfoot native americans, follwing the murder of his lover Silver Fox at the hands of Sabertooth, logans goes into the Canadian military during the 1st World War. He Spends some time in Madripoor,before settling Japan where he marries Itsu and has a son, Daken that logan doesn't know about. During World War II, Logan teams up with Captain America fighting as a soldier-of-fortune. Then logan serves with the 1st Candian Paraachute Battalion during D-Day, and the CIA, Before being recruit by the Black Ops Unit Team X. As Member of Team X logan is given false memory implants. He continues on the team until he is able to break the mental control and joins The Candain Defence Ministry. Logan is then kidnapped by the Weapon X program where he remains captive and experimented on. During his imprisionment by Weapon X the unbreakable adamantium is forcibly fused onto his bones. He escapes an eventually joins the X-men thanks to the guidance of Professor Xavier. To close I have always been a fan of Wolverine since I can remember he has survived having the adamantium ripped from his body by magento,he was brainwashed by Apocalypse to become the Horseman Death he has had his soul ripped to shreds in hell literally yet he survives and it is stated thati september Wolverine will be killed but will he stay dead? thats the question. I know one thing for sure do not get into logans way ever the result will not be pleasant for you.

Wonder Woman Amazonian Fury

What can I say about Wonder Woman only that she never backs down from a fight with a warriors spirit and beauty to go along with her love and compassion for humanity, Wonder Woman also known as Diana Prince is the third piece of the Trinity the big three ( Batman Superman Wonder Woman) as one of the founding memebers of the Justice league Diana is not afraid to fight with the boys. Making Her first appearance in All Star Comics# 8 in december of 1941sh was depicted as a heroine who fought for justice, love, peace and sexual equality which led Diana to be considered as a feminist icon. A warrior princess of the amazons based upon the same amazon's from greek mythology on her strict all female island of Themyscira man and outsiders of anykind are a threat to all life because of their self destructive an arrogant nature. Having been created during  the second world war Wonder Woman was intially depicated as battling the Axis state forces, Many fixated on eradicatedding of the amazon began to appear villians such as Cheetah, Ares the greek god of war. Now diana doesnt really have an origin story its said she was made from clay from the earth or she was born a demi-god thats her current status in comics half human half goddess all badass. She has magical weapons forged by the gods the lasso of truth apparently is unbreakable it compels you to tell the truth, The indestructable bracelets, a weaponized tiara and a sword. Diana is a superior hand to hand combatant can fly has superstrength , speed, agility, reflexes a healing factor as well. We all got to see what wonder woman was capable of in the DCU animated film the Flashpoint Paradox Queen Diana of New Themyscira had no regrets about slaughtering the Shazam kids in clood blood or murdering anyone who stood in her way making them spill their guts literally. Now Wonder Woman has appeared in other media , most notably the 1975-1979 Wonder Woman tv series starring Lynda Carter. Since Carter's series and the episodes of justice league and superfriends before that studios have struggled to introduce us to a new live action wonder woman on to the small screen. There have been attempts to return Wonder Woman to television included a pilot for NBC in 2011, followed by another stalled production for The CW . I do not understand why it has been such a struggle to give us a live action wonder woman but in 2013 it was annouced that Israeli actress Gal Gadot best known for her role in the Fast Furious francise will be potraying wonder woman in 2016's Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice. Also it wasrecently announced that wonder woman will be getting her own Solo live action movie on the big screen in 2017. My final thoughts I always thought that wonder woman as a character was awesome and fearless and just dont see why people are so angry about who is playing diana prince on the big screen. I say be happy that you are getting to finally see wonder woman introduced and taking on a solo film I think everyone will be suprised at the turnout. The Phoenix A Darker Force

The Phoenix force which first appeared in Uncany X-men #101 in october 1976. The ultimate entity that has taken on many hosts in the marvel universe. made famous for its role in one of the most momumental Storylines in comics to date The Dark Phoenix Saga. Now this entity known as the phoenix force is an immortal an evolving manifestation of a universal force of life and passion it is the child of the universe. The phoenix is the most fear beings in all of existence period with the power to cut an regrow the universe and completely eradicate it. The phoenix purpose to burn away the obsolete. This force has been described as the spark that gave life to the universe, and the flame that will consume it. Now it gets interesting The phoenix force at a time was a sentient and nameless entity that traveled the cosmos just like other cosmic beings. After saving the magician by the name of Feron who worshipped the legendary phoenix who visions prompted the Phoenix to adopt the firebird form which you still see today. after a battle between Feron an a villian named Necrom who stole a fraction of the phoix forces essence which force it to flee back to space in a type of confused agony. Now the force returned back to earth when it felt the mind of young Jean Grey her mind resonated with the forces energy. Jean had telepathically linked her mind to her dying friend , Annie Richards to keep her soul from moving to the afterlife. But Jeans mind was being dragged to the other side with annie. The phoenix lent its energy to break the connection, and kept a close watch over jean it felt a kin to her. Years later with jean dying on a space shuttle, her mind called out for help the phoenix force answered and transformed jean in to the phoenix. After an encounter with the hellfire club and manipulation by mastermind and the white queen after escaping jean had been transformed into the Dark Phoenix. She fought the xmen and went to the stars, She devoured the energies of the D'bari Star system to satisfy her "hunger" as Dark Phoenix this resulted in the annhilation of five billion inhabitants to that system. After being defeated in psionic combat by Professor Xavier she regained control. After being teleported into space by the alien race the Shi'ar given a trial by cfombat for the D'bari incident. The outcome leads to jean becoming the dark phoenix but seeing how evil and "hungry" the phoenix becomes she commits sucide on earth's moon before the eyes of a horrified cyclops. Later on the rising from the ashes occurs. To Close in terms of Phoenix as a villian her abilities are beyond comprehension her powers drive the host mad an to edge of suicide and rebirth when the phoenix to racheal summers future daughter of scott and jean fought and defeated Galactus just that alone tells us the phoenix can not be matched by the way galactus devours planets and he was made to destroy and got obliterated. The phoenix is a force that can not be stop and never will be... watch for her fire.
