Iron Man : The Ghost in the Machine

" I went from being a Man trapped in a Iron Suit to being Freed by it." A mere 13 page story cramed into a twelve cent issue of tales of suspense number 39 which debut in March 1963. Tony Stark during the time and even today was a bit of a showoff a child of the Spotlight. Stark A millionare Munitions manufacturer, well regarded for his Technological innovations that where employed heavily by the US military. After setting off a booby-trapped trip wire Tony was knocked unconscious by the resulting explosion a piece of shrapnel was lodged very close to tony's heart. Things only got worst for the helpeless businessman taken captive by a communist leader who wanted stark to build weapons for him to kill countless American forces Stark had a different proposal he built a suit of armor to not only help keep him alive but help him escape.Tony was aided by Professor Yinsen a fellow prisoner and Brillant Physicist who was presumed dead. Unfortunatly to help buy Tony time to charge his new suit Yinsen ran into a hallway madly to be gunned down. A quick Confrontation with the terrorist leader this IRON MAN eradicated his entire camp single handly that was the first adventure of the Iron Avenger. The Iron man Armor spans from 1963 to today an still gets better with age but lets look at the Man behind the armor or in tonys own words " Hiding? Is that what it comes to? Hiding my feelings, My Life Behind an Iron mask?" Iron Man was Stan lees vehicle to explore cold war themes, Particularly the role of American technology and business in the fight against communism. Many of the Themes have changed to more modern concerns such as Corporate crime and Terrorism. The Anti-communist stance of iron mans early years had changed as opposition rose in the Vietnam War. This Change had evolved a series of stories with Tony profoundly reconsidering his Political stance and the morality of manufacturing weapons for the military. Now Tony Stark isn't perfect no where near he shows himself to be very arrogant and willing to let the ends justify the means. This causes conflicts with the people around both his civilian Identity as Tony Stark and his alter Ego Iron Man. Tony uses his personal fortune to upgrade an expand his armor, but to Develop weapons for S.H.I.E.L.D and other technologies such as Quinjets used by the Avengers and even the Image Inducers used by the X-men. Now as time went by Stark's heart condition had reached the public and treated with an Artificial Heart Transplant. Now in the Early Seventies and Eighties Stark begins to expand on Armor Designs and begins to build arsenal of Specialized Armors for particular situation such as Space Travel and stealth. Tony then develops a serious Dependency on Alcohol in the "Demon in a bottle" Storyline. Sometime later down the Line a ruthless rival, Obadiah Stane (not to be confused with actors Jeff bridges great but loose interpretation of the ruthless business man and enemy who manipulates Stark into a serious relapse. The result of this manipulation has stark losing control of Stark International to Stane he then becomes a Homeless alcohol-abusing derelict and gives his Identity as Iron Man to James " Rhodey" Rhodes his personal pilot an Confidant who becomes the New Iron Man for a lengthy period of time. Soon James becomes seriously aggressive and Paranoid, due the armor not properly being calibrated to Rhodey's brain waves. Rhodes goes on a rampage an tony in a replica suit of armor stops him. Tony starts to discover that his health is continuing to deteriorate due to the cybernetic interface causing irreversible damage to his nervous system. Starks condition is aggravated by a former mentally unbalanced former lover Kathy Dare who attempts to kill him by damaging his Spine paralyzing him. A nerve chip implanted into his spine helped him regain his mobility. Unfortunately starks nervous system continues to fail, and he constructs a skin made up of artificial nerve circuitry to assist. Tony begins to pilot a remote-controlled Iron Man armor, but when he faces the masters of silence, his telepresence suit proves inadequate. To fix this situation Stark Creates the more heavily armed version of the suit to wear known as "Variable Threat Response Battle Suit", Which later becomes the War Machine Armor. The Damage to his nervous system becomes too extensive. Stark Fakes his own death to be put into Suspended animation to heal while Rhodes who now utilizes the War Machine Armor and takes over running Stark Enterprises and the Mantle of Iron Man. Tony makes a full recovery by using a chip to reprogram himself and resumes the Identity of Iron Man when Rhodey discovers that Stark manipulated his friends by faking his death enrages Rhodey an the two friends part ways Rhodes continues as War Machine in Solo career. Later on Rhodey has a fatal accident that will turn him literally in A War Machine half man Half Armor all Badass hero. Through all the Crises that Tony has endured he has come on top to be a force to be reckon with he is constantly tinkering an inventing he's a man with a broken heart an body but manages to fight harder then most. He has been branded a murderer lost his fortune faked his death had multiple attempts put on his life by his business partners. He has fought alternate versions of himself he has even gone up against Captain America the first Avenger an been the cause of his Death He has faced The Hulk one on One he may have had two hulk buster armors that the green goliath trashed but he held his own. He had to go head to head With the Asgardian God of Thunder Thor an made an Impression on the son of Odin. He has Been a Founding member of the Avengers created an Iron Legion of Iron Men even been possessed by the Avengers worst nightmare Ultron. I think people relate with Tony Stark the most because of his constants battles with his inner demons the fact that he can break any minute but still hold his own in a fight as a leader even the secretary of defense. The thing that makes Iron Man one of the best he never stops creating his Ideas help an protect the people and that's what makes a hero its not their powers or abilities or the gadgets. Its the willingness to fight no matter what's thrown at you I know this much is true Tony Stark is The Golden avenger the Shell head he is human and even if he dies his Ideas will stay eternal there will always be an Iron Man in the Marvel Universe.

Kingdom Come: When Gods go to War

What happens when gods go into battle? the earth beneath them an the people become consumed by the fire reigned down upon them. Imagine for 10 years the Justice League earths most powerful superheroes abandoned their roles. Clark Kent does not exist neither does superman he goes by his Birth name Kal-El a recluse self imposed exhile in the Fortress of Solitude. Gotham is now protected by steel bat Guardians controlled by Batman the manor is in rubble caused by two-face and Bane since his Identity had been made public only the cave remains He also wears a battle suit to continue his war on crime his former Robin and Bat family Member Dick Grayson takes on the Mantle of Red Robin an replaces Batman as a member of Superman's newly reformed Justice League. The Narrator of the story, A Minister named Norman McCay,recieves Apocalyptic vision of the Future from a Dying Welsey Dodds the Former hero sandman. The Spectre appears and recruits him to past judgement on the coming superpowered apocalyspe. This is a story of Redemption and vengeance of justice and pain an sacrifice. As it unfolds you realize that theses are not the Heroes we once knew they are mourning consumed by inner rage some are just a shell of their former selves from their Glory Days. Others have been phscologically and chemically unbalanced theses gods have been silienced. This four issue mini series that was published may to august of 1996 shook the readers and still does to this day the scriptures choosen to describe theses events in this Else Worlds tale make it an epic. You as a reader want to take a neutral stance you dont want to see superman lose, but enjoy watching him an a adult billy Batson/Captain Marvel whos been brain washed by Lex Luthor go at it like the Gods they are. This story will excite the senses bring out the inner child for old an new comic readers this is the Holy Grail the Illaid its a journey that I recommend for all. Batman Volume 1 The Court of Owls New 52 Review

"He Tried to use Gotham's legends against me. But I'm the Only Legend this city needs." Bruce Wayne has faced many enemies in his time as The Dark Knight but this enemy The secret society known as the Court of Owls thought to once be just a nursery rhyme has come back to take Gotham an Destroy its legendary Guardian Batman. When The new 52 was introduced in 2009 I was a huge skeptic about it. I went to Forbidden Planet looking to get back into reading an collecting so I went to pick up this story. Writer Scott Snyder words go for your soul he makes you feel like you are batman that you are behind the cowl. Looking at Greg Capullo's art just wraps up the whole story you are brought to the Dark rotting world of Gotham an you don't want to leave. Dealing with a Centuries old assassin who can regenerate an be brought back from the dead can be a problem even for the Dark Knight but we know he has help "The Family" plays a part in this story as well not only is batman and the Wayne legacy attacked but his allies are as well. I have to say this story has made me into a believer of the New 52 at least when it comes to the Batman I feel like I'm five years old again waiting for the next episode of the Animated series to air. In my 25 years of reading playing an breathing comics I have never been this excited to read the next story or even go an collect other stories. It leaves you craving more and I can say because of this story I have gone back to building an pre-52 and new 52 collection of trade collected editions when the last time I read a comic or even have a collection was in 2009. The Flash : The Fastest man Alive

Don't you just wish there more time in the day wish you could do an infinite amount of things in the blink of an eye well unfortunately none of us are the flash nicknamed both the Scarlett Speedster, the Crimson Comet also referred to as the Fastest man Alive. Now there are Four incarnations of the character and they all possess super speed, which includes the ability to run and move extremely fast have super reflexes and violate certain and many different laws of physics an space. The original Flash made his first appearance in Flash Comics #1 (January1940). now here are the names of the previous incartions of the Flash Jay Garrick (1940- present time) Barry Allen (1956-1985,2008-present ), Wally West (1986-2006,2007-2012), and Bart Allen(2006-2007). Before Wally and Bart took the mantle of the flash they where both protege's using the same name Kid Flash Bart also took the name Impulse. As stated before there have been several others who have used the name Flash but they have either lived on other parallel earths or in the future the best know n to hold this identity are Garrick , Allen , and West. Jay Garrick a 1938 college student at the time accidentally inhaled heavy water vapors after taking a nap in the lab hwe was working in.Jay notice he could run a superhuman speed with similiarly fast reflexes. After a brief college football carreer Jay decided to fight crime he donned a red tshirt with ablightening olt and a metal stylized helmet with wings based on the images of the greek god Hermes. Although Jay is originally from Earth two ( Parallel world l He was incorporated into the History of New Earth following the crisis on Infinite Earths event which is why he is still active as the Flash of Keystone City and Member of the Justice Society. Now you ever meet someone who was always slow,deliberate and Frequently late? Thats Barry Allen a forensic scientist who had a bunch of chemicals spill on him after a lightening Bolt shattered the case of the chemicals. Realizing he could run fast and with super fast matching reflexes he dubbed himself the Flash after his childhood hero Jay Garrick. In the 1985 maxi series Crisis On Infinite Earths, Allen Sacrificed his life for the universe, and remained dead for over twenty years until the 2009 series The Flash Rebirth brought Allen back to the DC universe. Before I speak about the speed force lets talk about the flashes and their powers an abilities. All incarnations of the Flash can move,think and react at light speeds as well as having superhuman edurance that allows them to run incredible distances. the Later versions of the flash vibrate so fast and pass through walls this is called quantum tunneling, they can also travel through time. They can heal more rapidly then the average human. The speed force is the ability used by the flash to run through time amongst many other things . Wally west is the Nephew of Barry Allen and at ten years old the Same accident that gave Allens his powers repeated itself. The Young Wally became the kid flash after Barry's Death in Crisis On Inite Earths Wally became the Flash. Bart Allen is the grandson of Barry Allen at the time suffered from accelerated aging and was raised in a virtual reality machione to give him the impression of him still being a normal superpowered kid. Iris west Barry Allen's wife took Bart back in time to get help from then -current flash wally Bart's aging had slowed down he took the name impulse. But After taking a shot from shotgun to the knee by a possessed Slade wilson also known as DeathStroke , Bart had changed his attitude and outfit took the mantle of kid flash. Bart took over the mantle of the Flash soon but was killed by the villian team known as the Rogues. He was then resurrected by Brainac 5 in the 31st century but he did return to the past in Flash: Rebirth. In closing no matter which version of the flash you barely see in a blink of the eye he is hero that was a major help with his sacrifice in Crisis on Infinte earths he change his own small part of history in Flash point Paradox literally changing reality which was badass. The fact that his thoughts move at lightspeed making it tough to have a telepath like Martian ManHunter or Gorilla Grodd attack his mind make him a worthy opponent . In the Blackest Night Saga not only did wally run away from death itself he bacame a blue Lantern the emotion of hope that within itself is awesome I can only say this godspeed an dont get in the way of the flash. Trust me you wish you given up before you start the Flash will also have a series on the CW before the Season 3 premiere of Arrow which is going to be awesome.

Deadpool: The Merc with the Mouth

Have you ever met someone you where pretty sure wasnt functioning on all cyclinders or no cyclinders just on the notion that instead of there being just three dimensions there are alot more. That this person pisses you off to the point you want to kill him but cant so your stuck with him as he attempts to break through the Fourth wall of the universe well my friends please hide your loved ones an please have some kind of protective gear for your mind because we will be talking about Deadpool. A mercenary for hire Wade Winston Wilson made his first appearance in New Mutants #98 in February1991 he appeared as a villian in X-force and starreed in several ongoing series and shares titles with cyclops future son cable. Wade is better know as the "Merc With a Mouth," he never shuts upand has the tendency to break the "Fourth wall," this is used by writers for a humorous effect. Fun fact the Idea of the Fourth Wall was an Idea suggested by Philosopher and Critic Denis Diderot and spread in 19th century theatre, this extended the idea to the imaginary boundary between any fictional work and its audience. Its a technique used in metafiction it penetrates the boundaries normally set up by fiction this is all to say that Deadpool is self aware that he is a character ina comic and likes to share with audience thats pretty cool. Ok now Wade's back story is very vague and has been subject to change, within his own narrative he can't remember his personal history due to his mental state there is also some speculation as to whether or not his name is actually Wade Wilson. One of his nemese T-Ray claims in Deadpool#33 that he is the real wade wilson and that deadpool is a viscious murderer who stole his identity. There was even one point in time that the supervillain Asgardian Trickster Loki claimed to be his father I can not make this up. In the 2011-2012 Deadpool series it is implied in a flashback that Deadpool is the real Wade Wilson the deranged an partly insane son of a Decorated war hero, day dreams of childish and deadly ideas pushed him to become a mercenary. The original story had him joining The Weapon X program after being kicked out the United States Army Special Forces. Now The Mercs Primary power is an accelerated healing factor artfically endowed by the Weapon X program this enables him to regenerate any destroyed tissue at super-human rate as well this makes him immune to all known diseases. But an unanticipated side effect occured the acceleration of the cancerous tumors he was suffering from at that time, causing them to spread across his entire body. Because of this, his healing factor supercharged the cancer resulting in massive scar tissue causing Wade to be servely deformed. Wades healing factor also is the cause for his psychosis and Mental instability it is said to exacerbated a underlying mental issue, Young wade was shown as being withdrawn and disturbed caught in his twisted daydreams even after losing his healing factor Deadpool diddn't regain his sanity. Wades healing factor is strong enough that he has survived complete incineration and decapitation more then once. He was able to regrow his head after having it pulverized by the Hulk can I be first say wow. Now unlike Wolverine's natural healing factor wade's is mentally driven so he is resistant to most drugs and toxins, but some drugs can affect him like tranquilizers if exposed to a large dose. While Wade's Psychosis and dissociative identity disorder are seen as a great weakness, They are his greatest asset next to his Martial Arts, Marksmanship,Swordsman skills he is an unpredictable opponent with a chaotic improvised fighting style that distracts and destroys. As I close I enjoy deadpool and all of his eccentric behavior his insanity has made dull days pretty awesome he is a random badass who calls grenades pineapples gives his guns sound effects. If your on deadpools list or a contract I say just give in and take the bullet dont fight.

When your an Immortal with a sick healing factor indestructabile claws and the senses of an animal along with the shortest temper in the entire 616 span of the Marvel universe, you tend to be challenged repeatly with one outcome serious injuries. Im of course talking about logan also known as James Howlett better know as the Wolverine. Making his first appearance as a cameo in The Incredible Hulk # 180 in October 1974 then his full appearance in Hulk #181 in November 1974. Logan possesses animal keen senses; enhanced physical capabilities , and of course the healing factor that allows him to recover from any wound, disease, or toxin an a super accelerated rate. This healing factor also slows logans aging process allowing him to live beyond a normal human lifespan. Logan's healing helped him survive havin nearly indestructible metal alloy adamantium bonded to his skeleton damn. He is often depicted in comics as a member of The X-men, Alpha flightand later the Avengers. As time came to pass writer Chris Claremont in collaboration with artist Frank Miller revised logan's character with a limited four issue series from September to December 1982. This series coined Wolverine's catchphrase, " I'm the best there is at what I do, but what I do best isn't very nice". Logan was like many of the tough , anti-authority, antiheroes that popular american culture could relate to after the war in vietnam; Logan's willingness to use deadly force and his bad ass demeanor became the standard characteristic's for anti-heroes in the 80's. Wolverine became a fan favorite aas a resulkt of the increasingly popular francise. Wolverine has been featured in his own solo comic series 1988. Now Wolverine's official origin was told in the 2001-2002 miniseries Origin . Logan was born as James Howlett in Alberta Canada in the late 1880's, to rich farm owners John and Elizabeth howlett now later on the story Wolverine goes to hell reveals that logan is the illegitimate son of the howletts' groundskeeper, Thomas Logan. After being thrown off the Howlett's property for violent actions commited by thomas other son named dog wow thats a depressing name. Logans father returns to Howlett manor kills Mr. Howlett in retaliation james kills Thomas with bone claws that emerge from the back of his hands. A traumatic event in ones youth is often the trigger mutant powers. James is then casted out by his mother who then commits suicides james flees with his childhood friend Rose who closely resembles Jean Grey, grows up on a mining colony in the Yukon Territory where her adopts the name "Logan". When logan accidently kills Rose with the claws, He then leaves and goes to live in the wilderness amongst the wolves, After the wolves are killed logan gets captured by the circus he is set free by Saul Creed brother to Victor Creed also known as Sabertooth. After giving up Logan and Clara Creed's location to Nathaniel Essex also know as Mr. Sinister logan murders Saul which many believe is the reason for the cause of the obessesive rivalry between Sabertooth and Wolverine. Later Logan returns to civilization residing with the Blackfoot native americans, follwing the murder of his lover Silver Fox at the hands of Sabertooth, logans goes into the Canadian military during the 1st World War. He Spends some time in Madripoor,before settling Japan where he marries Itsu and has a son, Daken that logan doesn't know about. During World War II, Logan teams up with Captain America fighting as a soldier-of-fortune. Then logan serves with the 1st Candian Paraachute Battalion during D-Day, and the CIA, Before being recruit by the Black Ops Unit Team X. As Member of Team X logan is given false memory implants. He continues on the team until he is able to break the mental control and joins The Candain Defence Ministry. Logan is then kidnapped by the Weapon X program where he remains captive and experimented on. During his imprisionment by Weapon X the unbreakable adamantium is forcibly fused onto his bones. He escapes an eventually joins the X-men thanks to the guidance of Professor Xavier. To close I have always been a fan of Wolverine since I can remember he has survived having the adamantium ripped from his body by magento,he was brainwashed by Apocalypse to become the Horseman Death he has had his soul ripped to shreds in hell literally yet he survives and it is stated thati september Wolverine will be killed but will he stay dead? thats the question. I know one thing for sure do not get into logans way ever the result will not be pleasant for you.

Wonder Woman Amazonian Fury

What can I say about Wonder Woman only that she never backs down from a fight with a warriors spirit and beauty to go along with her love and compassion for humanity, Wonder Woman also known as Diana Prince is the third piece of the Trinity the big three ( Batman Superman Wonder Woman) as one of the founding memebers of the Justice league Diana is not afraid to fight with the boys. Making Her first appearance in All Star Comics# 8 in december of 1941sh was depicted as a heroine who fought for justice, love, peace and sexual equality which led Diana to be considered as a feminist icon. A warrior princess of the amazons based upon the same amazon's from greek mythology on her strict all female island of Themyscira man and outsiders of anykind are a threat to all life because of their self destructive an arrogant nature. Having been created during  the second world war Wonder Woman was intially depicated as battling the Axis state forces, Many fixated on eradicatedding of the amazon began to appear villians such as Cheetah, Ares the greek god of war. Now diana doesnt really have an origin story its said she was made from clay from the earth or she was born a demi-god thats her current status in comics half human half goddess all badass. She has magical weapons forged by the gods the lasso of truth apparently is unbreakable it compels you to tell the truth, The indestructable bracelets, a weaponized tiara and a sword. Diana is a superior hand to hand combatant can fly has superstrength , speed, agility, reflexes a healing factor as well. We all got to see what wonder woman was capable of in the DCU animated film the Flashpoint Paradox Queen Diana of New Themyscira had no regrets about slaughtering the Shazam kids in clood blood or murdering anyone who stood in her way making them spill their guts literally. Now Wonder Woman has appeared in other media , most notably the 1975-1979 Wonder Woman tv series starring Lynda Carter. Since Carter's series and the episodes of justice league and superfriends before that studios have struggled to introduce us to a new live action wonder woman on to the small screen. There have been attempts to return Wonder Woman to television included a pilot for NBC in 2011, followed by another stalled production for The CW . I do not understand why it has been such a struggle to give us a live action wonder woman but in 2013 it was annouced that Israeli actress Gal Gadot best known for her role in the Fast Furious francise will be potraying wonder woman in 2016's Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice. Also it wasrecently announced that wonder woman will be getting her own Solo live action movie on the big screen in 2017. My final thoughts I always thought that wonder woman as a character was awesome and fearless and just dont see why people are so angry about who is playing diana prince on the big screen. I say be happy that you are getting to finally see wonder woman introduced and taking on a solo film I think everyone will be suprised at the turnout. The Phoenix force which first appeared in Uncany X-men #101 in october 1976. The ultimate entity that has taken on many hosts in the marvel universe. made famous for its role in one of the most momumental Storylines in comics to date The Dark Phoenix Saga. Now this entity known as the phoenix force is an immortal an evolving manifestation of a universal force of life and passion it is the child of the universe. The phoenix is the most fear beings in all of existence period with the power to cut an regrow the universe and completely eradicate it. The phoenix purpose to burn away the obsolete. This force has been described as the spark that gave life to the universe, and the flame that will consume it. Now it gets interesting The phoenix force at a time was a sentient and nameless entity that traveled the cosmos just like other cosmic beings. After saving the magician by the name of Feron who worshipped the legendary phoenix who visions prompted the Phoenix to adopt the firebird form which you still see today. after a battle between Feron an a villian named Necrom who stole a fraction of the phoix forces essence which force it to flee back to space in a type of confused agony. Now the force returned back to earth when it felt the mind of young Jean Grey her mind resonated with the forces energy. Jean had telepathically linked her mind to her dying friend , Annie Richards to keep her soul from moving to the afterlife. But Jeans mind was being dragged to the other side with annie. The phoenix lent its energy to break the connection, and kept a close watch over jean it felt a kin to her. Years later with jean dying on a space shuttle, her mind called out for help the phoenix force answered and transformed jean in to the phoenix. After an encounter with the hellfire club and manipulation by mastermind and the white queen after escaping jean had been transformed into the Dark Phoenix. She fought the xmen and went to the stars, She devoured the energies of the D'bari Star system to satisfy her "hunger" as Dark Phoenix this resulted in the annhilation of five billion inhabitants to that system. After being defeated in psionic combat by Professor Xavier she regained control. After being teleported into space by the alien race the Shi'ar given a trial by cfombat for the D'bari incident. The outcome leads to jean becoming the dark phoenix but seeing how evil and "hungry" the phoenix becomes she commits sucide on earth's moon before the eyes of a horrified cyclops. Later on the rising from the ashes occurs. To Close in terms of Phoenix as a villian her abilities are beyond comprehension her powers drive the host mad an to edge of suicide and rebirth when the phoenix to racheal summers future daughter of scott and jean fought and defeated Galactus just that alone tells us the phoenix can not be matched by the way galactus devours planets and he was made to destroy and got obliterated. The phoenix is a force that can not be stop and never will be... watch for her fire.

Poison Ivy the wraith of Flora

Dr. Pamela Lillian Isley also known as Poison Ivy who has proven to be one of batmans more powerful Rogues by displayiing anything clos to superpowers the supervillianess made her first appearance in Batman #181 in june 1966. Ivy is depicted as one of the world's deadliest eco-terrorists. Isley is obssesed with plants,botany and environmetalism.   Ivy is not a saint or rose for that matter she uses toxins as well as mind controlling pheromones for most of her activities which are aimed at protecting the natural environment. A fun fact Poison Ivy has been potrayed as a love interest for Batman. In one instance Ivy was robbing a charity event that bruce wayne happened to be attending an in the chaos Ivy kissed Mr. Wayne her toxic lips planted a seed of toxic rapture in bruce later on she kissed a dying Dark knight actually curing him instead of finishing him off quickly. Now here comes the fun part because of the experiments that transformed pamela the amount of animal plant based toxins in her blood streammake her touch deadly an allows her to boost her immunity to all poisons,viruses,bacteria and fungi. She is also immune to the joker venom but is she more plant then woman some comics have her breathing CO2 and the need of sunlight to survive. After some pratice time ivy could conciously control her appearance instead of having permanent green skin from the vegetable toxins and chlorophyll in her tissue. Having a body that produces pheromones that make people susceptible to mind control around her strong minded people like the batman are capable of resisting. Ivy was able to control superman with the use of Kryptonite and ordered him fight batman, the bat survived. lastly she can control plants with her mind there have even been times when she communicated with the magician zantanna through heer vase of roses. so in my opinion Ivy is not to be messed with. Da Vinci's Demons Season 2 review

There is a line between genius and insanity is thin at best but leonardo Da Vinci has shown us his line has been cut this season. There is little know history of Leonardo Da Vinci's early life its not until much later the Italian renaissance polymath whose genius epitomized and defined that era. Now to those who havent watch the first season i would suggest watching it on Starz on demand or starz now app. But a quick refresher is always great the young artiste stuck into the politic schemes of the Medici and Pazzi familes and their corrupted relationships with the roman Catholic church. While theses events occur Leonardo is pressed with the quest of retrieving the book of leaves while become entangled with the Cult know as The sons of Mithras. We have seen at the beginning of leo's journey for the book we see his fascinations with flight , underwater travel as well as explosions amongst other things we see that the genius is not only a great gift it is his curse. Leonardo's demons within push him further into the dark but his fate has yet to be defined the inventions machinations an leos deductive mind all add to the vision and mystery of the show. This second season has brought Da Vinci to a new world both physically and mentally alot has been reveaaled many relationships have been broken. As one door opens three more shut once you think you have figured out what will happen another factor comes into play. One of the great questions of season one have been anwsered but another few questions and we will have to wait until next year to find out where the Artiste heads next. If your into history or drama or just a great action mystery then this is the show you can not an should not miss. I highly reccommend this show no matter what your opinion of historical drama is take the journey.

NightWing End of a legend

Every Wednesday DC comics releases a new comic book issue of a series. Today NightWing #30 was released wedsnesday marking the end of the hero's run as th masked vigilante known as NightWing . Now for thoses who do not keep up or have time lets chat about who Nightwing is and the events that have led to this last issue. I mentioned before that in 2011 Dc decided to revamped their characters origins an new adventures as well as new looks. This little marketing stint was called the New 52 Dick Grayson better known as nightwing had some pretty dark adventures away from the Batman Family. I know your wondering " Who the hell is Nightwing?" Before Nightwing there was Robin the boy wonder Batman's first sidekick. Robin first appeared in Detective Comics #38 in April 1940 then as Nightwing in Tales of the Teen Titans #44 in July 1984. Richard John "Dick" Grayson was the youngest for the acrobatic family the "flying Graysons", Dick witnessed a mafia boss murder his parents to exort money from the circus they worked with. Bruce Wayne took him in as his legal ward. Thus the Dynamic Duo was born Batman and Robin became an unstoppable force during Dicks teen years. Once he got older Dick spent more time as leader of the Teen Titans. He later became leader of the Outsiders as well following the events of the Storyline " Batman: Knightfall", Grayson takes the mantle of Batman while Bruce was recovering from a broken back and spirit. Bruce considers Dick as his apparent heir to the c ape and cowl,Grayson had temporarily replaced bruce as batman in Robin # 0 in october 1994 throughout the Batman : Prodigal storyline. Then from 1996 until 2009 he becomes protector of Bludhaven, Gothams crime ridden neighboring city. After the complete destruction of Bludhaven, caused by Deathstroke Nightwing relocates to New York. The events of "Batman R.I.P." and Final Crisis , Dick is forced to move operations to protect the city following Bruce's apparent death. Despite Bruces will not to take the mantle of the Dark Knight the chaos tearing Gotham's soul forces Dick to take his mentor's identity as batman even making Bruce and talia al ghul's Son Damian Wayne his robin in honor of his fathers legacy. Bruce does eventually return from the dead Grayson goes back to being Nightwing after acting as batman along side his mentor with Batman INC. It is the Events of "Forever Evil" that had caused Dick to retire his superohero identity but it is also a order by batman to go off grid. Fear not my friends DicNightwing may be gone but Dick Grayson will be returning in a new series titled Grayson. The new series will have Dick working for an organization and he will be armed with gun going against one of the Dark Knight 's rules no guns ever. But will Grayson become a government assassin or will stay as an undercover agent for batman with different rules? In closing I say farewell to Nightwing but look forward to following agent Grayson.

Xmen Days of Futures Past Review

Is the Future really set? Can we change history These are some of the questions an themes presented in Bryan Singers film Xmen Days of futures paast based on the amazing 1981 Chris Claremont and John Byrne Story arc of the same name. Now this story has been retold different in the 90 series which I and many other fans old an new loved the mutant Bishop who is excellently potrayed by Omar SY is sent into the past to prevent the fatal future that he lives in. Many who have read the issues or seen the series knows that it takes place in a dystopian future where mutants are placed in internment camps that many of Xavier's team has been killed and only few are left the main threat beside humanity are the towering robot hunters the Sentinels created by Dr Bolivar Trask of Trask industries . In the original story Kate Pryde transfers her mind into her younger body to present day kitty Pryde to bring the Xmen to prevent a fatal moment in history. Now on to the film  having watched all 6 previous film this film was 14 years in the making was the best Xmen movie hands down it hit on all cylinders and yes I'm going to say it is up there with the avengers you may disagree I thought it was done well. The film is very cerebral (no pun intended) I left the theater amazed and had that feeling of waiting for Saturday morning with huge bowl of cereal to wait and see what the Xmen had to face this time. Hugh Jackman has finally grown into the role of wolverine many believe he is an overused fan favorite could be true but I disagree wholeheartedly he gave us the wolverine we all wanted for this movie. Peter Dinklage can not be stopped he has mastered the the craft . Jennifer Lawrence showed true homage to Rebbecca Romans Mystique you saw the anger and emotion that pulled her character right off the pages. Sir Patrick Stewart an Sir Ian Mckellen what can I really say gentleman well done. Jame Mcavoy and Micheal Fassbender both brought that 70's swag and brought the true anger and emotion to their already broken relationship I still felt  the presence of their first class friendship/rival its like you never left them in the past Nicholas Hoult as a young Beast outstanding. Now the bridging of the  Generational gap in the movie was amazing  my sister who is a child of the 70's felt right at home which I think was the general problem that most people had with it  they couldnt relate to the music or the clothes which brings me to Quicksilver most people hated his outfit it was the 70's my  friends kids dressed that way. Did Quicksilver steal show? I can say that not one actor stole the show they all delivered I loved Evan Peters quicksilver he brought  the right one liners I didnt have a problem with his speed most older fan did I thought it was great to keep the pace of the movie going .

Now Ive heard and read problems with the continuity of the films I'll just say this if your looking for this to be exactly like the original story  you will be disappointed if your looking for exact chronological event throughout every single movie then you will not enjoy this if your a true diehad when it comes to comic book movies Im sorry to say this may not do it for you because your expecting way to much of a film that already does what it needs to do. This movie met all my expections you cant always have something so perfect but it was amazing. This movie was Bryan Singers comeback movie an he came back with a vengence and brought things full circle. The Cameos where great as well play close attention see who you can spot and the events of the film brought history into the mix which I loved. The second timeline of the 70's made me feel like I got a glimpse of what my sister had as a child and I appreciated it  more. But of course I only wanted to see one other thing in the Post credit scene but  beside that epic my friends so in closing I saw no real flaws with the film it did what it  had to.

I closing if  I had to rate this Id give it 5 out of 5 stars and I would recommend it to all fans of the comics the series and even fans of some of the films because most hate Xmen 3 Origins and The Wolverine but I would say go see it for yourselves you be the judge but I do highly recommend it.

The Dark Knight VS. The Man of Steel

With The Man of Steel sequel approaching in 2016 I thought I would take the time to share some of my predications for the film as well as discuss the age long debate can Batman beat Superman? and why does this universal debate continue? the question that will also be raised for superhero fans and non superhero fans alike why reboots? are they necessary or a big waist of time and energy are they more effective in comics or do they make bigger impressions on film? so to get the ball rolling we shall start with what we know so far about the film beside there being a new man under the cape an cowl we will have the trinity also known as Batman Superman and Wonder Woman as well as Cyborg in the mix if we look back to Man of Steel Kal -el was coming into his own accepting his true calling and having an earth shattering battle which ripped through metropolis like tissue paper. Tech satellite and a few Lexcorp properties we learn that the military has Superman under surveillance because they still do not trust him and are trying to find where he hangs his cape at night a quick line about growing up in Kansas how much American can he get the man of tomorrow flies off. So I believe that obviously the Destruction of the Satelite will come to Bruce waynes attention as well as having to help rebuild metropolis but luthort will not be so forthcoming. I don't believe he will be visiting with the batsuit unless he goes to investigate the suspicious activities that connect to Lexicorp bring on the younger and Cunning Lex Luthor who will most likely dodge all accusations fired at him by Mr.Wayne. Looking at the suit we have seen on the internet of Affleck we know he will probab buly be the seasoned veteran crime fighter and the worlds greatest detective an this suit will only give us a slight connection to the Dark knight trilogy where we last left Bruce wayne who seem to have settled with selina kyle and his manor used to housed the misfortunate an orphaned youth of gotham city but a repaired batsignal on the top of Major Crimes unit building and former officer Robin John Blake standing in the Batcave "rising" into the darkness. Now all this aside in Frank Millers 4 issue 1984 The Dark Knight returns batman has retired gone for 10 years crime in his city has gotten worst crime has taken the souls of the innocent the joker is in a catotonic state harvey dents face an mental state are rehabilitated. Breaking his promise of never again to jason todd the second robin brutally murdered by the joker the caped crusader returns reborn but more volient less reserved superman on the other hand works for the president dealing with the impeding threat from the russians cause them to launch a cold bringer causing a EMP knocking out the entire city and causing very little sunlight this event calls for batman to be the only symbol for law and order. Because his reluctance to heed supermans warning telling bruce to go back in to retirement. The man of steel is called to stop batman peacefully at first until batman throws the first punch with the help of an older one armed green arrow hitts superman with a kryptonite projectile which goes into his lungs not deadly batman tells clark to remember in his private moments to remember the one man who beatman had created an exo suit which gave bruce strength that equalled to supermans to match him in a hand to hand fight but how will this battle transalate to film? synders man of steel didnt have kryptonite as a weakness he was weakened by kryptonian atmospherics. The two titans will battle like lex wants them to where he can finish his secret project which could involve doomsday or the opening of a boom tube to bring darkseid to the the table bring the justice league. Rumor had it that batman would be controling a handful of robots which is straight from the pages of Alex Ross kingdom come where bruce doesnt wear a costume an he is still know as the bat this week kevin smith gave insight into the   color of the batsuit he said pick up the dark knight returns issue hunt the dark knight and those are the colors he will be wearing his blue and gray batsuit a classic idea and we have the annouced title of the film Batman V Superman :Dawn of justice the title hints at the rise of the justice league. As i think about the title doesnt bother me much i am concerned with how people tend to bash acharacter when they are protrayed by another actor i have been guilty of this and now choose to reserve judgment until i can see a final product. Now about 3 years ago Dc came up with the Idea to retell and reboot their characters and stories this marketing strategy was dubbed the new 52 referring to the 52 alternate earths / timelines  in the DC universe. The new 52 origin of the justice league with it founding members at each others throats and not knowing each otherthis was put into the animated film justice league war which wasnt as great as the story or the flashpoint paradox flim and story which where both great stories . SO are reboots really necessary in some cases you could say yes i believe that after the franchise killing fancamp of batman and robin they needed new life and to bring fans back same with superman after weak attempt of superman returns so yes some reboots are needed . Where Dc fell off the map and marvel reign supreme there timeline of solo films to build into the avegers we see how that turned out pretty damn well. Now in terms of rebooted comics some a great especially for the younger generation of fans reboots for movies like spiderman are great but i was born in 1989 im a late80's early 90's comic book tv series geek im Pre new 52 and pre marvel Now . I wont go to far into the age longe debate of who would win with batman vs superman i am a fanboy of both but i favor bats so i wont make this one sided depending on whos writing the story and the scenario but logically Superman could crush batman and it pains me to say that. From comics stand point 9 times out of 10 batman takes it as i close i hope that this film will meet all fans expectations both old and new and that justice league will shock all the haters. Arrow Season 2 finale The bar has been set

This season has brought some serious revalations we have  come  to see the protagonist Oliver Queen truly evolve. Many havent watched or even have an interest in the show i suggest time to go through the whole of season 1 on netflix to catch up. But a recap for those who want the short and sweet version of the show it starts with a young immature playboy billionare Oliver Queen who takes a voyage  with Queen  senior it ends in chaos and lost an toture. As season 2 has come to an end oliver has dealt with more then any one person can endure he has found love an experienced more pain then ever his old friend and mentor &nbp;has become his worst nigthmare Slade wilson also known as DeathStroke the superhuman sociopath bent on olivers destruction because of a choice that caused Slade to suffer he wanted to return the favor in kind. Tonights episode took no prisoners a city in flames men who are true monsters corruption o f the highest level uneasy alliances men back from the dead true feelings come to light in middle of crisis but the silience spoke volumes and the conclusion leaving us fans wanting more answers and so many unawswered questions. First look Ben affleck in the Batsuit

Ever since the annoucement of this epic event of the Dark Knight taking on The man of steel in the Man of steel sequel dubbed Batman VS Superman many fans like myself became skeptical after the casting decision of Ben affleck as the world greatest detective. This new film set to debut in 2016 this will be the unofficial origin story  of the justice league i believe  which will set the stage for the justice league movie set to release 2018 which will  also be directed by zack synder as well. But today after hearing the Rants of Kevin Smith on how epic the New batsuit looks we get a first look of the image tweeted by Mr.Synder of Affleck suited up next to the new batmobile. It is directly out of the pages of Frank millers The Dark Knight Returns and i Praise Mr. Synder the batmobile looks like a mixture of the Tumbler from the Nolan Triology as well as Burtons 1989 Batmobile and i am sold Mr. Affleck looks ready to take on Cavils man of steel an looking forward to seeing them both suit up. I am also looking forward to seeing miss Gal Gadots Wonder Woman as she will be making an appearance in the film an the take on cyborg as well I hope that Afflecks performance will match the suit because the cowl doesnt define the man.
